Gov. Crist: Join with us and Veto SB 6

Everywhere Governor Crist went this weekend there were signs.

The people are speaking.

We are speaking.

SB6/HB7189 "TEACHER MERIT PAY" isn't good for Florida.

The weekend papers were full of stories about this bad bill.

At each event, Republicans, Democrats and Independents came to see the Governor.

We waited patiently for our turn to personally ask the Governor to Veto this bill.

The will of the Florida voter is strong.

We made a heroic effort to convince our Representatives to vote No on SB6/HB7189.

Our Representatives willfully ignored us.

The line has been drawn.

Tell him we expect his FULL VETO ON SB6/HB7189.

SB6/HB7189 is fiscally irresponsible. It is an enormous unfunded mandate. It will cost an additional $2 Billion of our money to implement.

Robs almost $1 Billion out of our kids classrooms

Undermines the teaching profession and is unfair

Removes almost all local control

Is a Government take-over of the teaching profession and intrudes into every aspect our kids' school experience

Runs directly counter to every promise of smaller government ever made

Republicans, Democrats and Independents must tell the Governor who we are. Tell him that this issue crosses all party lines. Help this man to see.

It's time for Governor Crist to step up. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

Remind him that there is no greater motivation than the love a parent has for their child. This love is so powerful that it, alone, can give a 100 pound mom the strength to lift a car off of her child. There are hundreds of thousands of us.

Writing letters and making calls is nothing compared to what we do every day to keep our kids safe, healthy and ready to learn. We can do this. We're parents.
